Viking Site of the Ribstones, quartzite boulders carried from the Canadian Shield by glaciers. Carved by Cree Indians and arranged in a rib pattern, the rocks are thought to have been used in fertility rites for the buffalo. Free. 10 km (6.25 mi) east of Hwy 14 and 3.5 km (2 mi) south. Viking Historical Museum on Main St contains pioneer theme rooms. May 16 to Sept 7, daily 10 am - 6 pm, by donation, 336-3066.
